ABOUT KATSTO POODLES & DESIGN
Katsto Poodles & Design is located in Gippsland Victoria, I have owned and showed Standard Poodles since I was 16 years old. I have been in and around dog breeding since this time, but only bred my first litter under the Katsto Prefix in 2022. Our main priority is ensuring the health and well-being of all our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family - and beyond. All dogs that we bred come with lifelong support and will be taken back at any point if for whatever reason their owners can no longer care for them.
Health and Temperament are our focus, and if along with this we can get the color we love this is a bonus. We are using UC Davis an Orivet for health and Genetic Diversity, along with Better Bred to analysis the Genetic Diversity of our planned Breedings.
OUR HISTORY
I received my first standard poodle for my sixteenth birthday, and the rest is history as they say.
My first standard Ch Jaltau Trooping the Colour - Trooper was bred by Jack Baker and Alan Kane in 1986. He was a very handsome blue dog and is responsible for my love of standard poodles. I learnt so much with this dog, managed to show him to his title amongst very tough competition, won many in group and in show awards as well as my very first Best in Show award.
I did have the pleasure to show some of Troopers offspring in the ring.
I did stop showing Standard poodles while I had my family but always did have a poodle as part of our family. Once my children where older I did get back into showing poodles after attending a poodle club of Victoria Show and meeting the beautiful "Ramze", I was hooked again.
